Summer ski in Tignes
Skiing doesn't stop just because it's summer! Our resorts with slopes set on a glacier are often open for business and have a plethora of other activities on offer too. You can do summer skiing in the French Alps mainly in Tignes in the Tarentaise region but Les 2 Alpes does have some limited skiing available in May and early June. These glacier skiing areas benefit from the low temperatures at altitude, especially at night, so you can expect smooth groomed runs in the morning and soft bumps later on. They're usually fairly compact, with a mix of blue and red slopes, but you’ll also find the occasional black.
Please note: Summer skiing is normally at its best in June and early July due to snow conditions. Conditions on the glacier can deteriorate quickly in late July and August with unseasonably hot temperatures and this could lead to an early closure of the ski area. Sadly it is difficult to predict this until quite late in the day. If you are looking to summer ski, June is your best time.
