Early season snow in the French Alps

Friday, 08, November, 2019

If there's one way to get the team at Peak Retreats HQ excited it's when our daily browse of the resort webcams and snow reports shows snow, snow and more snow! Over the last few days, the snowfall has been brilliant across our resorts, so we thought we'd share some of our favourite captures.

Chatel looks stunning today and is an ideal base from which to explore the extensive Portes du Soleil ski area.

Where to stay:  Les Chalets d'Angele and Les Fermes de Chatel are both great value options for this resort.

Oz en Oisans is just 45 minutes from Grenoble and beautiful.

Where to stay: Chalet des Neiges is ideally located and a ski-in/ski-out residence or all-inclusive Village Club is a popular choice.

Charmrousse is picture-perfect.

Where to stay: Les Villages du Bachat is located very close to the slopes and lifts and Ecrin des Neiges offers doorstep skiing.

Snow at resort level in Les 2 Alpes makes us do a little happy dance. If you'd like to know more about this resort, Claire from our team took her family skiing there last season and put together a review of Les 2 Alpes for us.

Where to stay: Neige et Soleil is made up of just 19 apartments and is located in the Grand Plan area of Les 2 Alpes with a number of good shops, bars, restaurants and mini-market available. Alternatively, and perfect if you're looking to be in a quieter area, stay at Alba which is adjacent to the Vallée Blanche chairlift.

La Rosière woke up like this!

Where to stay:  For a luxury catered chalet try Chalet Angelonia. If you are looking for a self-catering option, client favourites include Les Cimes BlanchesLe Hameau de Barthélémy and Chalet Les Marmottons.

Saint Martin de Belleville looking as beautiful as ever!

Where to stay:  Chalets Caseblanche is a stunning self-catered option, or try Hotel Saint Martin and Apartments, who do both self-catered or half-board options.

You can see why Serre Chevalier is a hidden gem resort. If you know, you know and if you don't it's got  250 km of north-facing pistes, a highly rated snow record and skiing conditions and scenery!

Where to stay: Aquisana and Le Hameau du Rocher Blanc are both ideally located, pocket friendly options popular with our clients.
