We've put together a list of some of the best activities you can do in the French Alps (that aren't downhill skiing!) - from snowshoe walks to zipwires and paragliding, there is something for everyone!
1. Snowshoe walking in Montgenèvre
Lots of resorts offer guided snowshoe walks, which are magical at any time but they're particularly special at night. Equipped with a head torch and snowshoes, you can explore the slopes at night. In Montgenèvre, the ESF offers an evening snowshoe walk through the forest, with a tipi destination where you can enjoy a traditional fondue!
Inside Track: Some of our ski experts have taken part in guided snowshoe walks - 'The guides we've had, have a plethora of knowledge about the local mountain flora and fauna!'

The latest must-do activity in resort is a mountain coaster! Think of a roller coaster, but one where you're in charge of the brakes! Les Carroz has the Speed Dragoz, a track circuit in the heart of the forest. You can enjoy this Alpine Coaster in two ways: with eyes wide open, you can experience the real gripping feeling of the coaster or alternatively, with captivating virtual reality, you can be transported into a fully immersive universe. Also try; Montgenèvre's Monty Express, La Rosière's Xtrem-Luge, Les Saisies' Mountain Twister, why not tick them all off your list?

In Le Grand Bornand, Tignes and in many of our other resorts, you can enjoy tandem flights of varying lengths from 10-45 minutes, with a qualified paragliding instructor.
6. See how Beaufort Cheese is made in Val Cenis

8. Ziplining
If you're looking for an adrenaline rush then try out one of the new ziplines that have opened in the French Alps over the last couple of years. We loved the one in Les Arcs, which goes from the top of the Varet gondola right down to Arc 2000. Choose to ride seated in tandem, solo or even head-first! Serre Chevalier has a new zipline too, which our team have tested and thoroughly enjoyed! Or head to Val Thorens to experience their double zip-line - two people can ride side-by-side down the 1800m long line.
