We can't wait to get back to the mountains for some skiing this winter and we're sure you can't either! Here's what you can expect on your return to (in our opinion!) the best place in the world for your winter holiday in 2020/21.
Our resorts in the French Alps are looking forward to welcoming you back this winter season, whilst also keeping everyone safe. All resorts have introduced a few simple safety measures to ensure everyone still enjoys their time in the mountains safely.
See below for what to expect on a ski holiday in the French Alps during the 2020/21 winter season...
SKI LIFTS
Ski lifts are classed as a form of public transport in France so follow the same rules. Expect to wear and mask in the lift queues, lift stations and on the lifts and in gondolas. High touch surfaces will be regularly disinfected.
SKI HIRE
As with all shops, you'll need to wear a mask when picking up your equipment. All equipment will be disinfected after each hire and hand sanitiser will be available in the shop too.
SKI SCHOOL
Those aged 11 and over will be expected to wear a mask at the start and end of lessons at ski school, as will instructors. If you need to go inside the ski school office then you'll need to wear a mask if you're 11 or over. Any equipment loaned for your lessons (the bibs worn by children to identify each class for example) will be disinfected after use.
BARS AND RESTAURANTS
Tables will be spaced out by at least 1 metre or separated by a fixed or removable screen to ensure safe distancing. For those who never liked the crush at the bar, the fact that there will be table service only will be welcomed. You'll need to wear a mask when not seated and walking around the bar/restaurant.
SOCIAL DISTANCING
Winter sports take place outside in the fresh air and often in wide open spaces, and the equipment needed is already effective in reducing exposure and ensuring social distancing (gloves, skis, poles etc.).
