La Plagne
La Plagne is made up of lots of villages: Plagne Montalbert, Plagne Bellecote, Montchavin, Les Coches, Champagny en Vanoise, Belle Plagne, Plagne 1800, Plagne Soleil, Aime la Plagne, Plagne Centre and Plagne Villages.
La Plagne is lift-linked to Les Arcs via the Vanoise Express double-decker cable car. It can transport nearly 200 people across the valley of Peisey-Nacroix in less than 4 minutes. It is the largest cable car in the world currently. Fun facts: the cabin is 380m from the ground at its highest point and travels at 45km/hour. It's quite a spectacular journey with stunning views. The departure station is in Plan-Peisey (Les Arcs side) at 1,612m of elevation. The arrival station is at 1,548m of elevation upstream to Montchavin (La Plagne side).
Paradiski presents VertiGO thanks to a 1.70m2 transparent glass plate in the floor (since 2015) of the lower level of both of the 2 cabins, passengers can enjoy the view in 3 dimensions, combining a 360° panorama of the legendary surrounding mountain peaks and a plunging view of the Ponthurin valley under your feet!

Here are some ideas of activities, however there is plenty more on offer!
Walking and hiking
Various guides are available to take you on walks through the mountains. You can also try Nordic Walking or stop for a bit of Nordic Yoga. In groups or solo.
For running enthusiasts, particularly trail runners, the valley of La Plagne offers a wide range of possibilities, from the coolness of the cycle path to the mountain ridges for experts, via footpaths that link the traditional villages of the Versant du Soleil.
Orienteering trail
Discover the village on the orienteering trail. Maps available at the tourist office.
Mountain biking
La Plagne offers a varied terrain, with forests and Alpine meadows, going from the mountain peaks right down to the valley. The resort offers 21 itineraries with over 300km of marked trails. The Enduro trails mostly follow natural paths which are all marked out on a trail map. The circuits are colour-coded: blue for an easy ride, red for more experienced riders and black for those who are experts. You can purchase a lift pass in resort.
Electric bikes (E-Bikes)
Discover the heritage of the Versant du Soleil by electric bike! Enjoy e-MTB discovery itineraries through villages and mountain pastures.
Bike park
Maintained and supervised all summer by 5 watchful bike patrollers, the Colorado bike park is for everyone. With green, blue, red and black runs, from beginners to experienced riders, anyone can have fun.
Find it: open daily in July and August, you can reach the bike park from Plagne Centre or Plagne Bellecôte. Take Colosses, Bergerie or Colorado chairlifts to get to the trails. You will find a bike rental shop in each of La Plagne’s villages or bring your own bike. There are two bike washing stations at the bottom of the trails.
The 'Green Trail'
This trail goes from Bourg Saint Maurice to Aime, running along the Isère river. It is made up of 14 km of paved track on an easy, regular gradient for runners, cyclists, walkers, skaters etc. On the riverside with plenty of shade, it’s refreshing and perfect for families. The Versants d’Aime leisure park is along the way, offering a spot to aim for or a place to stop for a while.
Pump track
Come and practice cycling, BMX, mountain biking, skateboarding, rollerblading, scooters etc
on the PumpTrack in Aime la Plagne! With a surface area of 1200m2 and 200m of track, there are blue levels with red options.
Find it: at the start of the cycle track in Aime la Plagne towards the Maladière stadium.
Skate park
Come and practice skateboard, scooter, bmx or rollerblade on the Skate Park of Plagne Tarentaise.
Find it: in Macot, below the multi-purpose hall near the petanque court.
Maladière stadium
Located in Aime-La-Plagne, the site will have new facilities for sports and leisure activities.

Outdoor climbing
There are plenty of climbing options in the mountains. For beginners through to advanced, you will find areas perfect for you and guides to help you advance your climbing skills.
You can also find Via Ferrata which consists of a trail along a rock face. It combines hiking and climbing, so you tend to move upwards, using ramps, ladders, bridges, beams, etc. You are attached with a lifeline, so this is a safe adventure. La Plagne has three via-ferratas which are freely accessible. First, you need to get a harness and a helmet and beginners will need a guide! Les Bourtes via ferrata has two zipwires along the way, so don’t forget to take a carabiner.
Indoor climbing
Indoor climbing and bouldering area. 400m2 climbing area. Bar + snack bar.

Canopy trails
Explore the Alpine trees on La Plagne’s canopy trails where you can climb a bit higher and have fun in an ecosystem that is otherwise quite inaccessible. The trails are adapted to different levels and are even trails for children aged 8 and up so that no one’s left out.
Find it: above the Isère river or the Vallon de l’Ours, overlooking the Vanoise glaciers or in the Tarentaise valley.
You will find a tree top adventure course in Montchavin-Les Coches (Up&Go Park).
White water activities
Come and discover the sensations of the river in rafting, hydrospeed, airboat or canoraft. A team of professionals will look after you on the banks of the Isère river.
Leisure lake
Located at 'Le Gothard'. It is equipped with games for children, water games, ping-pong tables, multi-sports fields and picnic areas, a recharging station for bicycles and inflating. The beach is supervised on summer afternoons.
Find it: accessible on foot, on rollerblades or by bike via the greenway along the Isère river. By car: direction Bourg Saint Maurice, exit Le Gothard.
Paragliding
Various different companies offer paragliding experiences in La Plagne. Each one offers different types like intro flights, sunset flights, performance flights etc.
Mountain kart
You can race down the appropriate track for you on your Mountain Cart.
Find it: meeting point at the chalet at the bottom of Colorado chairlift and then take the carts from the top of Colorado chairlift to Plagne Centre or from the top of the Montalbert gondola.
Pony and donkey rides
Or dog treks.
Find it: Plagne Montalbert.
Super Tyro zip line
Soar above the breathtaking Lac Vert and take in stunning views of Mont Blanc on the exhilarating 600m zip line! This activity is suitable for beginners and is accessible to everyone, with a weight range of 20 to 130kg, making it perfect for thrill-seekers and newcomers alike. Min age 6 years.

Espace Aqualudique Paradisio (aquatic fun and wellness centre)
Aquatic centre with outdoor pool and slides plus indoor spa facilities.

La Plagne restaurants and bars
There is no shortage of restaurants or bars in La Plagne villages. Each village has its own selection which you can sample, including traditional French food, pizzeria, creperies, cafes...even Sushi!
You will find usual amenities such as mini markets for groceries, sports shops, bakeries, clothes shops etc.
Getting to La Plagne, France
By road:
From Calais, take A26 Motorway to Reims and Troyes, then A5 Motorway to Dijon, then A39 motorway to Lons-le-Saulnier and Bourg-en-Bresse, then A40-A42 Motorway heading towards Lyon. Take exit 8, drive through Ambérieu-en-Bugey, follow N504 towards and up to Chambéry, then take A43 motorway and A430 motorway to Albertville. Continue on N90 towards Moutiers and Aime. Take the D220 then D221 towards La Plagne. Pass Plagne 1800 and turn right to Plagne Centre at the roundabout. At Plagne Centre if you wish to continue to Plagne Soleil/Plagne Village, turn left at the roundabout.
By air:
