Our Favourite Villages for Summer in the French Alps

Peak Retreats have specially selected our favourite alpine summer villages for you to experience. We have plenty of choice, depending on whether you are looking for a more quaint typically French mountain village such as Samoens or Les Houches or a larger 'resort' such as Tignes which is more spread out with larger buildings - but still French!

The likes of Tignes also have a huge amount of activities in the summer such as paddleboarding on the lake, mountain biking, skatepark, climbing wall, indoor swimming pool complex, along with plenty of walking or hiking! That said, you will find plenty of activities in smaller villages too. It isn't just the winter season that's full of activities! Of course, if you just want to have a more relaxing holiday, what better place than in the mountains with stunning scenery, fresh mountain air and often amazing warm sunny weather.

Average temperatures in the French Alps depend on the altitude, but you can expect temperatures in the 20's over the peak summer months.
