Tignes Val d'Isère

Tignes Val d'Isère (formerly Espace Killy) consists of the two world famous resorts of Tignes and Val d’Isère, providing a large well-linked area with a reliable snow record. The ski area, with its 300km of piste, 2 glaciers and 79 lifts, is a favourite of the British. The maximum skiable vertical drop of the Tignes Val d'Isère area is one of the largest in the world at 1,900 metres. The lowest lift is at 1,550 metres, while the highest point on the Grande Motte glacier is an impressive 3,450 metres. There are also extensive off-piste possibilities. Tignes Val d'Isère is well suited to beginners, intermediates and experts alike. Tignes has dedicated beginner and progression areas, protected from the traffic on the main slopes for a safe confident start to skiing. In terms of accommodation, restaurants and bars, there is something to suit all tastes and budgets.

Tignes is made up of several resort villages; Tignes Le Lac, Tignes Val Claret, Tignes 1800 and Tignes les Brevières. Tignes Val Claret is the highest resort in the ski area and the liveliest. Tignes Le Lac is in a stunning setting right next to the lake (as the name implies), it’s the heart of the resort. Tignes 1800 is the newest village, built in a traditional style it has its own distinct charm and friendly feel. In Tignes les Brevières, you’ll find an authentic mountain village with cosy restaurants and bars. Val d'Isère has developed from being a small village to become one of the most famous ski resorts in the world, all whilst maintaining its charm.
