Easy Access By Train
Travelling by train to the French Alps is not only a greener way to get to the slopes, there are tons of other benefits too; no weight restriction on luggage, free ski carriage, picturesque views of the French countryside, stretch your legs whenever you want... make the journey part of your trip.
These resorts are some of the easiest to access by train. For example, Briançon has its own station, served directly by the night train, but also gives easy access to Serre Chevalier and Montgenèvre. Alternatively, you could head to Oulx in Italy to access these resorts, Oulx is served by the daytime TGV (a French high-speed train) from Paris. The Serre Chevalier Vallée is known for good snow conditions and its tree-lined slopes. Bourg Saint Maurice is accessed by the station of the same name, making it one of the easiest to access. It is also directly linked to the resort of Les Arcs by the mountain funicular – the most sustainable way to ski the vast Paradiski ski area and enjoy the tree-lined slopes of Les Arcs. Saint Gervais also has its own station. The resort is part of the vast Mont Blanc ski area and also boasts a beautiful thermal spa.
