Residence Avancher Lodge
The Avancher Lodge and Hotel Avancher have quickly established a loyal following and a reputation for being one of the best addresses in the resort. The reconstruction in 2018 has been very successful, with extensive use of traditional materials of local stone and wood, but with some interesting contemporary additions. The atmosphere is one of relaxed well-being. In particular, the staff are very friendly and helpful. Arrivals at the Avancher Lodge are on Sundays. Highly recommended equally for friends and families.
Guests of the Avancher Lodge may use the facilities at the Hotel Avancher which include:

- Free access to the 'wellness area' including an indoor saunas whirlpool and steam room (included, open 2pm-9pm). The spa offers you a unique view over the 'La Face of Bellevarde'. Experience a unique moment of relaxation with their outdoor sauna, situated on the hotel roof. Revive your body the Scandinavian way by going outdoors before arriving in the 85°C sauna,
- Massage room and hairdressing salon (arrange and pay locally). If you are not a hotel guest, booking a massage gives you access to the relaxation area,
- Fitness room equipped with a bike, elliptical and body building equipment.
- Atmospheric bar with fireplace. From 10am to 11.30pm, the bar opens its doors to guests of Val d’Isere. Head to the lounge to relax in a cosy and warm atmosphere. For extra atmosphere, head to the tavern area. The diversified wine list offers a wide range of wines served by the glass. At lunchtime, you can also enjoy simple, fast and refined food (not included). This season’s novelty is the cocktail bar,
- The very highly rated restaurant (closed on Monday evenings) serves an excellent 3-course half board dinner (not included for residence guests), as well as local specialities (their legendary raclette is not to be missed! The raclette is delicately browned under the central oven of the restaurant and is served on a plate, as tradition demands. It is the only place in Val d’Isère where you can enjoy it in this way), and an extensive hot and cold buffet breakfast (included for residence guests),
- Covered parking (pay locally, max. height 2.10m - Tesla electric charging points available).
All 7 apartments are tastefully decorated in a contemporary style, are spacious and very comfortable. Fully equipped open kitchen with ceramic hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher; living area with satellite TV.

Price is unless specified, per person, per week, in £s Sterling, including a Standard Eurotunnel LeShuttle crossing from Folkestone to Calais with a car with free FlexiPlus upgrade on selected dates on a self-catering basis. A supplement will apply for travel on certain peak dates. £15 each way supplement for high cars (above 1.85m) will also apply. Other routes and operators available (including P&O routes from Hull to Rotterdam plus Brittany Ferries route from Portsmouth to Caen).
